In November 1997 the Government published an independent report that suggested that a lot of changes needed to be made to improve things for children living away from home.
  Your life, your future! sets out how the Government has responded to the report and the main changes that will happen to improve the things that matter to you such as having your say, your education and health, feeling safe and being well cared for.
  Your life, your future! tells you what you can expect from the people who look after you both now and in the future. The Government is determined that you get a fair and decent start in life -  this is the first step.
