Who Cares? Junior is a great new magazine for children in care aged around 8-12 years old, launched by The Who Cares? Trust in May 2009.
The first issue has a cover designed specially for us by top children’s illustrator and author Nick Sharratt. We also have an exclusive interview with bestselling children’s writer Jacqueline Wilson, who created the best known fictional child in care – Tracy Beaker. And talking of Tracy Beaker, Who Cares? Junior readers have the chance to win an exclusive drawing of Tracy Beaker - with a special message from Nick – created just for them.
The magazine is packed full of readers’ contributions - letters, comments about life in care, jokes and problems answered age-appropriately by our very own agony aunt, Suzie Hayman.
Replacing KLiC! magazine, Who Cares? Junior is longer at 12 pages and has a vibrant, colourful, child-friendly feel. The magazine is designed to both entertain and inform younger children in care, helping them to feel supported and cared about, and part of a wider community of young people living in care.
