Flourish is looking for submissions for a brand new exhibition of artwork by children in care.
This will be the fifth annual exhibition by looked-after children and young people from around the UK. Artists showing work in the past have encountered a broad range of care, having experienced adoption, secure accommodation, fostering, care for special needs or being looked after by a family member other than their parents.
Flourish provides opportunities for artists to share their practices with the public and each other, with an emphasis on expressing what matters to them most. There are chances for them to speak to visitors about their artwork, receiving valuable feedback and encouragement. It is not a competition, but a campaign to promote the talent of these artists.
The full 2009 Flourish selection will be shown at The Foundling Museum, London until 4 July 2010. Opening times and further details can be found at www.foundlingmuseum.org.uk.
The deadline for submissions for the 2010 exhibition is Friday 25 June 2010. Download an application form and guidance from www.flourish-art.org
