Dear Suzie

I was wondering if you could help me? I have a problem getting girlfriends. I'm 16, all my friends get girls with no problem. I don't know what it is about me that girls don't like. I don't think I'm god's gift but I'm not bad looking. What's stopping me from having a normal relationship?

The only thing stopping you is a lack of confidence and your expectations.

Myth No. 1: Everyone else is doing it. Oh no they're not! I bet your friends are either spinning tales or going through the painful process of asking them out.

Myth No. 2: Being a stud comes naturally. Oh no it doesn't! Knowing how to get on with people takes practice; you learn and make the odd mistake on the way.

Myth No. 3: If you don't get it right first time, give up. Oh no you shouldn't! Girls will like you given the chance. If you squared your shoulders, looked your potential date in the eye and asked what she thought of the latest film you might find her saying "Fancy seeing a film on Saturday?"
