Foster carers are a very important part of the lives of most children in care. The work can be challenging but it makes all the difference to a young person's life to have someone who cares about and supports them. Where relationships work out, they can be hugely rewarding for both parties.
These pages bring together our resources to help foster carers better support children in their care and to get the right help when they need it.
Our links section explores a range of helpful organisations - covering everything from sexual health, eating disorders, bullying and career development for young people, as well as support groups for foster carers.
Our magazine for looked after children talks to them about their life experiences, barriers they've overcome, and places where they can seek help. Talk to your local authority if your foster child doesn't currently recieve a copy.
Many children are separated from their sibilings as well as their parents when they go into care. We talk to Siblings Together about the importance of helping children stay in touch, and to Aaron, who was fostered at the opposite end of the country from his twin.
