Grow your own Herbs

These little green wonders are small enough to grow anywhere and smell great!

When you’re home cooking, herbs can add lots of extra flavour to your meals.

Herbs look good and do you good. They’re not only good in food, they're also used in medicines, perfumes and insect repellents.

You can buy herb mixes and packets of seeds for under £5 and they can be as cheap as £1! Or you can cheat and buy herb plants in supermarkets for a few pounds...

Thyme is one of the most used herbs in the world...

Step-by-step to growing your own

1. Plant herb seeds in a container of soil that has plenty of moisture.

2. Water every day.

3. Keep pruning the plant to make sure it doesn't over grow - this could cause it to die.

4. After two to three weeks the plant should be ready to add colour to your kitchen and flavour to your home cooking!

Take it easy and be patient - some seeds take months until they sprout.
