Literacy issue of Who Cares? magazine (autumn 2011)

Who Cares? magazine reaches more than three quarters of all teenagers living in foster or residential care in the UK. Subscribed to by local authorities and independent fostering organisations for their looked after young people aged around 12 up, the magazine has been entertaining, informing and supporting these youngsters for over 20 years.

Who Cares? issue 96

The autumn 2011 issue of Who Cares? magazine focused on making literacy accessible and fun.

It included:

  • An exclusive chat with perfomance poet Benjamin Zephaniah
  • An article about getting your voice heard through blogging
  • Poems from young people in care
  • A call for young people from care to join the magazine's editorial advisory group
  • An interview with the stars of BBC One school drama Waterloo Road
  • Young people’s good and bad experiences of school life
  • A competition to win an Amazon Kindle
