Rice
* Use long grain rice * Takes half an hour
Wash rice until water becomes clear. Pop cleaned rice into a pan and add cold water (for every cup of rice, add 1 1/2 cups water). Put on medium heat and bring the rice to boil. As soon as it starts to boil, turn the heat down. Place the lid on the pot, with a gap, to let the steam escape. Keep checking and when you can see holes in the rice, put the lid on so no steam can get out. Turn down the heat. Simmer for 15 minutes.
