Get your voice heard - the APPG!

The APP-what?

The All Party Parliamentary Group for Looked After Children and Care Leavers (APPG) is a group held in Parliament where people – MPs, peers, social workers, foster carers and children and young people in care – can get together to discuss the challenges and successes of the care system.

Over the past year, young people volunteering for the 'Don't Write Us Off' campaign have been attending the APPG, asking questions, making comments and even sitting on the panel. They have shown the true influence young people can have over policy makers if they put their mind to it.

The meetings are open to everyone so come along! If you don't live in London or can't make a meeting you can join the conversation on twitter, where we tweet live updates. using the hashtag #APPGcare.

The date of the next APPG is 16th April 2012. It will be led by young people who have been working hard and inviting really important panel members to come along and talk about life in care. The panel members are:

- Zion (Chair)
- Adassa
- Counsellor David Simmonds
- Marcella Phelan

Tim Loughton, Minster for Children and Families, will also be there. Come and ask a question or hear the stories that young people have to tell.
