Trek the Inca Trail

This trek takes you along one of the world's best trekking trails to Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas. Experience great mountain views, ancient Inca ruins and the challenge of trekking at altitude. Itinerary

Day 1: Fly London - Lima.

Day 2: Fly Lima - Cusco. Acclimatise in Cusco. 

Day 3: Free day to acclimatise to the altitude or take part in an optional tour with a warm up hike.

Day 4: Early start to the challenge. Trek past Inca ruins to reach camp. 4-5 hours.

Day 5: Steep climb through the clouds to reach Dead Women's Pass at 4200m. Descend to the campsite. 7-8 hours.

Day 6: A long and difficult day, but the stunning views make it worthwhile. See the well preserved Inca ruins at Syaqmarca. 8-10 hours.

Day 7: 4am start to catch sunrise at Machu Picchu. Time to explore this magnificant site. 3 hours.

Day 8. Train back to Cusco with time for sightseeing.

Day 9: Fly Cusco - Lima and then overight Lima - London.

Day 10: Arrive London.

How much will it cost?

The initial registration fee is £299 and then we ask you to raise a minimum of £3000 in sponsorship. We take care of all the arrangements including all trekking permits and flights, accomodation, meals while trekking and full support from experienced guides is included.

Don't worry if you've not raised sponsorship before as we can help you. You'll receive a full fundraising pack and support all the way. It can seem daunting buy once you get started it's amazing what you can achieve.

What's not included?

Airport taxes, personal travel insurance, some meals on free days, gratuities and spending money.

How fit do I have to be?

This trek is quite challenging because of the altitude. It is suitable for people of average fitness who are prepared to put in plenty of training to enable them to meet the challenge. We'll provide you with training tips to help you on your way. You will need to have a medical form signed by a doctor in order to take part.
