This project will recognise and celebrate the fantastic work that social workers are doing up and down the country with looked after children.
Social work isn’t easy, and social workers tend to receive a disproportionate amount of bad press. When did you last read a story about a social worker who gave a child who had been abused the confidence to make new friends, helped to rebuild a family or continue to send birthday presents to care leavers that they worked with decades ago? These things happen every single day, and this is exactly the sort of thing that we want to capture in this project.
Has a social worker changed your life? Has your family been blessed with a social worker that always goes that extra mile? Or are you a social worker who builds relationships that last a lifetime? If the answer’s yes then we need your stories.
Share your experiences with us and help to redress the balance. If you are a social worker, do tell us about the kind of cases where you have made life better for someone. And if you or your family have been helped by a social worker, again we're very keen to hear from you. If you would like to share your story, please email us at mailbox@thewhocarestrust.org.uk
