Trainee
chef We are a family-owned restaurant on the heart of Essex and are looking to appoint a trainee chef.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in this
profession. We will give you full training This is a really good thing as it means that the organisation will put lots of time and resources into training you up.
No formal experience This means that you don’t need to have work experience to apply for the job. It is more important that you show that you’re interested in the subject and willing to learn. This means that you will need to show that you have a real interest in the subject and want to learn more about it. If you have done anything related at school, or in your spare time, then make sure you let them know. This means that you need to show that you are eager and interested to build on your current skills and knowledge. Most jobs will require you to be a good communicator. This means that you are able to express yourself and your opinions clearly. Communication involves both writing and speaking – both are important, but some jobs will put more emphasis on one over the other. This means that you will need to be able to work and push yourself without a manager telling you what to do. You will need to show that you are able to motivate yourself and stay focussed. If you have any hobbies or interests, such as playing an instrument, then mention these as they will show that you are self disciplined.
The hours are on a split-shift Lots of jobs, such as being a nurse, waitress or shop assistant, work on a rota with shift patterns to cover evenings and weekends. If you would rather work on weekdays from 9-5, then think about what kinds of jobs would suit you best. |
